This is my second post on Bladeforums, first here.
I sold off most of the clone garbage I had at a garage sale.
Left are 1
Clone of a CRKT M16 2
Clone of a CRKT Point Guard and 3
I Think Clone of an Emerson CQC7B-Serrated
Of course all are crappy junk, and in the case of the M16 clone, I got the real deal, an 03Z (which I like because of the flipper and where the clip is attached >allowing a low in pocket carry<)
Based on the Point Guard Clone, I could easily like the real deal. I'm not so sure on the other clone. If the real deal Emerson is WAY smoother, and a bit slimmer and better feeling- then yes.
I have learned this from what I know so far. I haven't much use for Tanto blades, and ABSOLUTELY no use for serrated blades. My 'big' knife often comes out to cut tie wraps or rubber hoses and slicing beats sawing! I also have no more use of Black blades based on how my Benchmade 350BT looks after one decent use!
Lastly. I have looked at the CRKT M18 and can see no reason to get one. My M16 locks up good and doesn't scare me in the least. The 18 looks bland and those inserts don't move me. I also have a Gerber FA Covert and it (except for serrations) is the cats meow.
Now if I could only win a lottery to feed this disease!!!
