Learning by trial and error.
I have some left over vege tan leather from making 8 Indian plains style arrow quivers as Christmas presents for 4 grandkids and 4 son in laws so thought I would attempt to make some knife sheaths. First few attempts were sloppy but I'm learning and this last one came out satisfactory, (for me anyway). Not real refined but knife fits snug and it rides comfortably on the belt.
I will say it's a fun and learning experience, but took part of my day yesterday and most of the day today to complete, won't be quitting my day job anytime soon.
