After the drought last summer and substantial snow fall now days of torrential rain, the pond "up stream" finally came over its banks. I think the shop will be OK as there are a row of bricks so 8 more inches before the water really poses a real threat. But my BK15 and 24 are in there as well as my hunting boots and waders! I'm so worried about them being in there all alone in the dark. Should I use the BK2 and dig a ditch to drain the water or risk life and limb in the nasty swamp to save my beloved knives?

I'd risk it. Just walk on your hands holding a roll of paper towel with your feet. When you get there dry your arms with the paper towel and use the waders to get back. Bam! Problem solved.

How deep is the water. If you really wanted them you could have found a way by now, I mean you are a beckerhead after all.. :p

The frog says the water is......kneedeep...kneedeep ;)

Sorry, couldn't resist. Hope everything's ok I have a creek in my backyard and written it goes over I get real nervous.

Yeah, knee deep and COLD. had to do it though.
They are all safe now and the doors are blocked tools and cardboard stuff off of the floor, and knee boots are in the house should the 2-3 more inches of rain that is supposed to come tonight hits us.

I was worried there for a second. Glad they were rescued without having to call out the National Guard.

Nice!

I'd break out the fishing gear and catch a fish or two off of the deck. Then you'll have a reason to rescue the Beckers. :)

If you hadn't gotten them yet, I was going to agree with the walking with your hands idea!

4+ inches in the shop now. Its going to be a long weekend getting everything dried out. I'm not even in a flood plane. The whole area is like Lousiana. Roads closed, bridges washed out power out...

What were they doing out there in the first place? I thought everyone slept with theirs?

They were involved in a hush hush project. It was a DNA splice combining the bk24 essee handle with the 15 trailing point blade. Shhhh very top secret stuff here.

Kind of ironic that you need your waders to get to your waders.

Hope everything turns out ok.
