Hi All,
Been having a tough couple of months and production was down, on the up side it is probably some of the best work I have ever done. Three knives all built on the same pattern. Ill describe them all then put a series of pictures up. So here are 3 hunter/fighters that you will pass down to your grandchildren.
What they have in common: All are stacked leather handles, the central portion is .25inch 416 stainless Allthread. Where ever metal had to be joined it was done with 70% silver high temperature brazing. Where the fitting are not stainless they are Bronze. All the grinds on the bottom cutting edge was done on a 10 inch wheel. The upper swedges are all flat ground.
Knife #1 : Made from Aldo’s 3/16ths CPM-154-CM overall length is 9.25 inches. Blade is 5 inches long and 1.5 inches at it’s widest. Upper swedge is 2 inches long and sharpened. Weight is 8.6 ounces. Fits comfortably in my hand, I wear a size large glove.
Knife #2 : Made from Aldo’s 3/16ths CPM-S35-VN overall length is 10.5 inches. Blade is 6 inches long and 1.5 inches at it’s widest. Upper swedge is 1.75 inches long and sharpened. Weight is 9.6 ounces. Fits comfortably in my hand, I wear a size large glove.
Knife #3 : Made from Aldo’s 3/16ths CPM-S35-VN overall length is 12.25 inches. Blade is 8 inches long and 1.5 inches at it’s widest. Upper swedge is 2.25 inches long and sharpened. The pattern the surrounds the guard is the “Vine and Thorns” pattern. Weight is 11.2 ounces. Fits comfortably in my hand, I wear a size large glove.
A note on the two longer knives. There are two dates stamped into them they are the birthday as well as the day my father died. I was working on these two when he passed. If you want to see any
