All six of these Benchmade folders are amongst my favorites and these particular models all have premium blade steel and handle materials.

  • 810-1401 (M390, Black/Blue G-10)
  • 710-1401 (M390, Black/Blue G-10)
  • 940-1 (S90V, CF)
  • 707-1201 (M390, Anodized Blue Aluminum with CF inlays)
  • 484 (M390, Contoured G-10)
  • 480-1 (M390, CF)

That's a beautiful group you have there. Having gotten my 710-1401, I now for some reason want to get a 940-1 even more!

Very nice collection.

Thanks.

940-1 is my favorite Benchmade of all-time even including any Gold Class I've seen and handled. It's the most expensive in the group of six I've pictured but you just can't beat the narrow, thin and slim profile, great looks, 3.4" blade of S90V, very nice texture on the CF and all at just 2.42 ounces!

You're definitely selling me on it!

The 484 seems a bit underrated. It's functional, ergonomic, stout, aesthetically pleasing, and sports Level II SuperSteel: M390. ;)
Seiichi Nakamura rules. The only critique I have of the design is how the liners aren't skeletonized--which in combination with the width of the handles makes the knife slightly heavier (and bulkier) than it needs to be.

Agreed.

The 484 is quite underrated. The small downsides are that it's a little too wide, too thick and too heavy. However, it feels really good in the hand. For a small folder it's one of Benchmade's toughest with the exception of the 755 MPR mini-tank!

Great collection. I prefer mostly black with mix of blue and you have exactly that.

I love the 484. None of its downsides affect me. I'm looking forward to the next iteration, maybe 484-1501, 484-1 or whatever.

"Nice grouping" (name the movie) no really that is a nice collection of BMs. I always wanted a 480 never got one. Too bad they are discontinued and apparently rare (just checked online) , a true Gentleman's pocket knife.
Thanks for posting.
