Over the past month I've gotten a few new knives (nothing extravagant or high end but I like em), figured I'd share them here and see what people's thoughts are on them, experiences or if you would suggest any nice mods I can do to any of them. Also, if anyone has any questions or wants to see a specific angle or something just let me know.
First up is my Cold Steel GI Tanto, which took a nasty bite out of my thumb last weekend all by my own stupid fault. Got 4 stitches, a chipped proximal phalanx and permanent nerve damage. Onto the knife, I really like it. Feels great in hand, came very sharp, takes a hell of a beating, great sheath, simple design. All in all this will be my go to large outdoors knife until I move up to a Becker or ESSE. For $24, Cold Steel has earned a fan.
-------
Next up is my first Neck Knife. Grabbed this because of it's low price (10 bones) and from my research it seemed worth it. I'll probably gift it out eventually. It's the Kabar Acheron. Part of the Cheesy but effective Zombie Killer line, it's actually a cool little knife. It comes with the hard sheath but that's all. The handle is too small for my hands so I did a paracord wrap using the Gecko pattern to keep it with its intended theme and now it actually fits really comfortably. Hair popping sharp out of box and I like the blade shape. The 5cr13 SS blade hasn't retained its edge very well but after a small amount of wood work and cardboard cutting, it's still decently sharp. Overall I'm happy with it for the price, but as soon as I find a good place to gift it, it's gone.
-------
Next is a Mora Robust to replace the one I gave away recently. It really needs no introduction. This is my favorite Mora and for $14 it's worth every single penny. Pictured next to my Companion MG.

Onto the more expensive ones. Here is my CRKT Nirk Tighe. I hated this design the first time I saw it. Then after seeing it up close, holding it and fondling it, I wanted it. So I found a good deal on it ($50 NIB), and pulled the trigger immediately. Say what you want about it, this thing has some serious beauty for a production knife. Based off of the Brian Tighe Nirk Custom (which is way nicer but costs $500+), this thing combines the innovation of the Nirk's lockback design with the coolness of a custom and, for me, nails it on all accounts. Very solid in hand but light at 5.8 oz with a 9.1 in OAL. AUS8 blade, Blue Ti-Nitride coating, smooth flipper and ball bearing pivot, frame lock back, skeletonized all over, free standing roller pins, great ergos. Even the inside of the handles are blue coated. Bottom line, I love this knife.
-------
Finally, from my Spyderco Dilemma thread. The Manix2 Lightweight Translucent Blue. My first Spyderco and certainly not my last. Love this knife in every way. Since it's popular, I'll spare the details on it and just go straight to the pics.
