Hey all,
First time showing off my work here. New maker, been making knives on and off since March or April. Bought a new house and work was nuts during the summer, so I'm just now getting some time to work again. Learned most of what I know from lurking on these forums, so I figured I'd finally post some of the results
Starting with the most recent:
#8 - 180mm Yanagi (~7" blade, just over 13" overall)
1/8" 1084 stock
Wood is flamed Maple and African Blackwood from Burlsource
Copper corby and hidden steel pin, pins between scale and bolster, also secured with Gflex
Hand rubbed finish on flats, bevel finished on water stones
Back was slightly hollow ground
Finished this one up today. Was a nice little challenge. Proud of how it turned out.
#7 - Wharncliffe Necker (~7" overall)
1/8" 1084 stock
Drunken Coffee Bag micarta scales from Shadetree
Copper corby and hidden steel pin
Hammered finish on flats
Machine finish on bevels
Polished spine and choil (done after pictures were taken)
This one was actually my first sale. Sold on another forum within an hour of posting it, was pretty proud of that (and I suppose I may have priced it a bit low).
#3 - Chef/Utility (7" blade, 12" overall)
0.1" AEB-L stock, HT by Peters
Full flat ground
Purple G10 with thick Jade G10 Liners
Steel Corbys
Hand rubbed 2500 grit finish
This one was a gift for my girlfriend (well, she paid me a penny for it) who is a Chef. I let her design it with some of my modifications.
Thanks for looking!
Mike
