I Use a paintbrush and paint on the alcohol dye, normally doing black last, just takes a little patience and a steady hand.

What tool did did you use to create the patterns on the sheaths. A backgrounder maybe?

I think this is spectacular, I love the built in versatility! Would you mind me asking where your clips come from?

Thanks for the compliment! That was my idea to make it a bit more versatile to carry. I honestly cant tell you where to find them, I bought a bag of them off another knife maker a year ago at a bow shoot for cheap. like $1 each :D

Bradj- yeah its just a background tool and a bit of creativity...

I would say that you nailed it. And no worries on that account, I just figured I'd ask before I went off and bought a few :D

looking forward to eeing you guys at Chamberlin Ranch in a few weeks..:)

Thanks guys!

Mike, were looking forward to seeing you at chamberlain as well! Your leatherwork has always been an inspiration, thank you for the compliments!

Love the knives and the sheaths. One thing, and this is just my opinion, I don't care for the large carved in names on the back....to me, it detracts from the beauty of the leather sheaths. Keep up the good work!

Thanks for the compliments Grizz! I understand your point of view on the names on the back of the sheaths. About half of our customers feel the same way. Because its not for everyone, we have always offered sheaths without the name. We also understand not every guy can bring another "girl" home to the wife.. :D

Hahahaha, never thought of it that way! :) The one at the end with the tooled wood planks looks awesome, love the detail on the grain and knot holes.

Beautiful work! The "wood grain" on the last sheath; was that done freehand? I am a leatherworker "wannabe'" which is why I was checking out this thread. I don't think I've seen a stamp that would give that detail. Thumbs up!

Thanks! Yeah it was done freehand. Its not an original idea. I've seen it on a larger scale somewhere, and figured I could do it smaller and on a sheath. Honestly, I'd say it is faster doing this design freehand than any of the stamping Ive done.
Thanks again!
Dan
