Believe it or not but that is actually 1/8" brown micarta. It does look just like leather but it has all of the advantages of micarta.

great job. love the styles of the designs and the materials are great choices... couldn't agree more about the micarta spacers. I get that "leather"? on occasion myself and I take it as a compliment.

Nice work. I admire your style. Do you forge your blades to get the brut de forge or some other process?

I forge some of them and grind some. On the ground blades I use a texturing hammer I made to give them a forged look.
