omega, sinn, sig, strider....i'm drooling now...i don't know much about guns but that nighthawk looks good.

Nice safe too!!

Well, we can help you cut down if you just post the combination to that safe. :D

Reminds me of the scen in "Tremors" where the survivalists kill the critter: "Broke into the wrong ****** rec room!!!".

Guess you are ready for the aliens.

What do you think of current production Springfield M1-A Recievers and Stainless Steel NM barrels?

I never cared for mouse guns.

You NEED a 10/22 or clone, too much fun!

Why 10mm?

Have you tried the Hogue grips for the SIG? I much prefer them to the stock grips.

Snow..
Where are all your revolvers?!
I just never got into revolvers All the rest of my pistols are Autos too.. I guess it is a ex-Military thing. ;)

Steven...
What do you think of current production Springfield M1-A Recievers and Stainless Steel NM barrels?
Alot of the big M1A gunsmiths use SA reciever as a foundation and that is what Tank did for me. It is investment casted...and then milled to spec... If I where to do it all over again I would go with an LRB or Fulton reciever. The SS barel on mine is a Medium weight NM ... Tank had told me that if it is shooting those kind of groups ...."well if it aint broke" He told me to shoot it until I cant hold those king of group any longer.. I will drop in a Douglas Premium then.

The early M1A in pic is a Devine made reciever (Forged)

Here is the skinny on Jon Tank... that I have "heard through the grapevine"... He did an apprenticeship with Mitch Brookfield hence the way he makes his ONE PIECE OpRod Guides and far as I know he is THE only civilian in the U.S. doing the steal bedding block with the Ft. Devon Cut. BTW I saved the 100.00 of having him inlet my McMillan stock with the Ft.Devon Cut by having McMillan do this AT NO CHARGE
I was speaking to the local FBI sniper here in NY (soon to be shooting buddy) at a local gun store that is owned by his Brother in-law. I showed him my rifle he was looking at the work done and I mention Tank's... He said “yea... that's were I had my M1A done... did you know that Tank has or at least had a contract to do the work on the the S.E.A.L.'s M-14's" ....Well.... man I had no idea.

As for his workmanship ...top notch!! I was a Tool and Die maker before I joined the Military and his work is very fine. He bedded in my block perfectly. To my surprise he not only unitized my Gas system he replaced my spindle valve with a machined solid high carbon steel pin to Drill and Tap the screws into. He also removed the retaining pin for my OpRod Guide and replaced that also. All I have to do now is depress my OpRod guide forward and shake the weapon and the pin easily slides out. My trigger pull IS the proverbial "glass rod breaking". He replaced the front sight with his NM Bar Stock MACHINED front sight. (SA's NM is Cast and Machined). And he also squared & crowned my barrel to my NM modified Flash Hider that he also did. and he also fitted my NM Rear Sight.

Basically..... I am done. I am so happy I DIDNT have the funds in the past to do all the work I wanted done and that I had Tank do the work. It was just blind luck that I chose Jon Tank because I REALLY had no idea. Just a recommendation form a guy from "across the street at BR".

As for the time frame my rifle was almost three months to the day. I did bug him a bit at the end and I believe that if I had not it would have been a few more weeks. Now knowing what he is doing with the military I kind of feel bad because I called him like a half of a dozen times.

Here is the work Tank has done:
U.S. Rifle 7.62mm
Springfield
Armory
0304XX
He did not mention an accuracy guarantee ...BUT when it returned from his shop it went from 1/2 MOA Groupings to less than 1/4 at 100 Meters. As for the Steel Bedding Liner... It is my understanding that Tank is THE only one doing this outside of the Military. IT IS AN INCREDIBLY TIGHT FIT!! He did an excellent job and was right on with his time estimate.

Checked Headspace of my TRW Bolt
Checked TRW Oprod
Tuned my TRW Trigger group to 5.0lbs
Fit my NM2A Rear Sight Base to my receiver
"Notched" NM Hooded Aperture
Installed Tanks Milled (Not Cast) NM Front Sight
NM Modified my Flash Suppressor
Squared and crowned my NM Barrel
Steel Bedded my McMillan M1A Stack
NM Modified (Unitized with screws) my Gas System
Installed Tanks NM ONE PIECE Op Rod Spring Guide
Installed Tanks Front Swivel/Bipod Stud to my McMillan Stock

I never cared for mouse guns.
Me too.. But that is what I had in the Army during the Gulf.. plus the kewl factor on the RRA is through the roof :)

You NEED a 10/22 or clone, too much fun!
not too long ago I was looking at a .17 HMR and I talked myself out of it because I have an OLD .22 WM from when I was a kid and I just dont shoot it much ..plus I am TRYING to stick with NATO ammo.

Why 10mm?
Ahhh why the 10mm....
The eternal question... because once you shoot a 10mm you will never go back to .45
10mm is THE ONLY round that past the FBI Ballistic gel test
I has similar ballistic to a .41 Auto Mag. Right now I carry NORMA 170gr. @ 1300 fps /636ft lbs.
I will SOON be using Double Tap ammo (New)
http://www.doubletapammo.com/php/ca...php?cPath=21_25

I can use 220gr. @ 1125fps/ 618 ft./lbs for hunting
OR 135gr @ 1600fps/ 767 ft./lbs !!!!
and every thing in between

Have you tried the Hogue grips for the SIG? I much prefer them to the stock grips.
Yes I have tried hogue... I had 2 older 226 Sigs with Hogue grip and frankly they needed it.. I did not like the older type 226 grips at all.

This Sig 226 NAVY (stainless) is the new style grip I like these much better.

Best Regards,

Doc
