I don't know. Didn't know what to think so bought on a whim as kid's gifting. (If they've been written about before excuse the post, but I didn't catch any)

I was surprised and grabbed four out of a tub at the checkout line. Advertised as "Lambsfoot" but I think rather Sheepsfoot. Have there been any postings to the least expensive traditional Sheep and Lamb and Wharncliffe -footed knives out there? These obviously China and are $3.99. Serviceable, I believe. Full-sized. Blade is SS. Slight hollow ground. I haven't yet measured hardness. Each actually slices paper with some stuttering at a point or two on the blade, but not hair-shaving sharp. Of the four, one has obvious bolster and back-gapping but the rest are fairly okay with fit without light through the backside and smoothed features (the liners are all a little proud on the backside to the wood). The blade edges are ground close-ish to straight but one more noticeably inconsistent than another. Hit and miss. None center well. Blades are easy to push side-to-side when folded and sturdier extended. They have half-stops that are sure. When open, backside transition is smoothly finished. Maybe a 3 or 4- on the pull (walk?) if I describe it right. No dirt or grit, very clean knives. I like the wood handles and the pins are smooth.

Past few years I've been buying up oodles of contemporary new Taylor's Eye Witness and A. Wright and Son knives. Wow - I've been very impressed at their fit finish cost. Those UK blades cost me about 10x (about $40 or so) but are easily 300x the knife to these cheapies.

Q. What other inexpensive brand traditional foot knives are out there?

MAM has two "sheepsfoot"... tho some may consider it a "Rams Foot" since the tip is a little bit wider than the tang end.
One a standard friction folder; the other a friction folder with a push to release tab liner lock. (I think Gary, 5K Qs 5K Qs has the locking version.)
Both have stainless blades. (They quit using carbon steel blades years ago. Yes. I emailed and asked.)
I only have the non-locking model/version. It slices at least as well an Opinel out of the box.

The leather fob is factory installed.
I "think" I paid around $8 or $9 for mine a couple years ago.
