So Wifey's in her 24th week of pregnancy, and it's been a rough one. She spent the first trimester throwing up so bad she had to be rehydrated intravenously. Then she got bronchitis and we spent a night in the ER. Now she's dealing with intense sciatica, and the Doc says all she can do for that is Tylenol.

So today we're in for the 6 month checkup, and the Doc decides to shoot some nice pictures for us. Only problem is that little Bella is in a weird position and she doesn't wanna turn around for us. Doc decides to prod her a little bit so he can get a bit of her face, and this is what she decides to show him:

He thought it was hilarious. Said he'd never been flicked off by a fetus before. Wifey says she's apparently got my attitude.:rolleyes::D

Guess we're gonna have a little knucklehead to deal with. Worst part is, I know she'll have me all wrapped up. :D

Jason

hahah well good luck when its out....i wouldnt introduce knives till the tender age of 8 in this case....

Congratulations! I'm sure the finger was unintentional.:D I hope you don't get offended when I say that the shadows in that picture look like a strange bald headed person, weird. I don't mean your baby! This head thing is much larger, do you see it?

Edit: Sonograms always confuse me, I never know what I'm looking at, nevermind.

I like it!

The first thing my son (delivered by c section) did was to piss all over the doctor. I smiled and knew that he would be a chip off the old block :)

Umm - that would be "she" as in baby girl - "its" generally are not humans :)

Come- come - come - its more than just about the language. Its whats behind the language.

Lol! That's funny, Jason. I thought you were gonna say the photo looks like a big alien, which, if you look at the pic as a whole (not just were the baby is), it kind of does. Let's pray momma gets well soon.

Great picture and story Jason. When do you plan to get her first Busse?

Thanks, people. She certainly DOES look like a little alien right now. Matter of fact, that's how wifey refers to her. My little body-snatcher. :D

As far as the first Busse, not sure but I'm sure I'll come up with something. Maybe she'll inherit the satin/tiger warden, though I know a gentleman on here has something in his dastardly mind:D

I DO have a BM 32 for her, though. Well...why front...everything I own will be for her one day, no? We shall see who she turns out to be. If that picture is indicative of anything, she's going to be interesting to raise.

Jason

You'd better believe it. :D

Sorry your lovely wife is having these difficulties. I believe it's called 'hyperemesis.' My wife went through this very badly with our last children, 'the twins.' I'm still in awe of her ability to stand that kind of pain ... even after all these years.

We got through it together, in anticipation of the reward to come (it was definitely worth it).

It is not dastardly. Demented? Perhaps. But definitely not dastardly. :)

I hope your wife feels better! Pregnancy is a real trial, for both parents. And... it only gets harder when the baby finally comes out!

Congrats on your little girl!

I'm glad I'm not the only one.:foot::D

It was, indeed, hyperemesis. Whodathunk they'd create such a technical term for whatnos essentially excessive vomiting? Natalie will be interested to hear Mrs. Homeseller experienced something similar. I think she often feels she is experiencing this alone. It's good for her to learn otherwise.

Thanks all for the well-wishes.

I could be wrong but do I see twins.....??

We heard that same thing at our first ultrasound..... The twins are currently laying on the floor laughing at Bear Grylls and scheming about how to get at Dads Busse's!

Good luck! All will be well soon enough, and the results are definately worth the trials you are suffering! Hope the wife feels better soon!

It was very bad with the twins ... the extra hormones really pushed her body hard. Spent quite some time in hospital.

Oddly enough, a peculiar composite medicine took care of the problem. There used to be a simple med to handle it, till the company cancelled it due to fear of potential lawsuits. So I looked it up in the formulary and compounded it myself ... it was just Vitamin B12 and a very common antihistamine. It REALLY helped my wife.

For fear of causing anyone any problems, I shan't be posting the recipe here. :p

Here's hoping the hyperemesis retreats, ceases, goes away ... and never returns. It DOES get better as the pregnancy progresses.

the hyperemisis is gone. They gave her Zofran for that and it helped a bit. Now it's just sciatica. I massage her back every night, and try to get her a natal massage when possible, but she often has to use my old cane (from when I was run off the road and ejected from my vehicle in '04) to get around. She IS a soldier, though. Tough woman, who would marry a man after finding out he has cancer, and now to be dealin with a difficult pregnancy.

Hey Jamie...maybe you can give me some good hints on a delivery-day gift. And don't suggest INFI. It won't work. ;)

Actually, I kinda think she got her backbone from Jerry because she's a STRONG woman.
