Some opinions on a few knives

I'm currently eyeing a Ranger Knives RD6 and Kershaw 1050 Folding Field Knife and was wondering what the general opinion was on em' were.

The RD6 I mainly plan to use as a survival knife (light to medium chopping, defense etc) to possibly replace my Ka-Bar. Now there's nothing wrong with my Ka-Bar mind you, as I have used and abused horribly it over the years but while it's a decent chopper on lighter stuff, it's awkward on bigger stuff (though it still get's the job done).

The Kershaw 1050 I like simply cause I like it's look and I want a folder to replace my lost Buck 110 and I plan to use it for general purpous use but was wondering what the opinion on this model is. I know it's alot pricier than the 110 but again, I really like the look.

i have several rangers and i like them alot. imo they make for great choppers with the 5160 steel and thick spine. i would opt for the RD7 or RD9 for a pure chopper.

i own 6 ranger knives. I dont own an RD6 yet and I am really not sure why, as it has probably been my favorite ranger design for a while. You wont be disappointed with an RD6.
