Met up with Eric today and we sort of strolled around the scout camp where he and Rick were doing demo's a couple of weeks ago. I even managed to get to see Rick's shelter, which somehow survived the elements until present.

Well, just hanging with Eric was fun, but I also managed to get a bunch of my knives all fitted with new pants from him. Its almost as good as getting a bunch of new knives!

Eric even threw in a bit of swag with a couple of mini-bic and bic holder and a battery pack holder that is just super nifty. The bic holders have molle locks with them and I've already fitted one to my maxpedition falcon II and another one to the molle webbing on one of the bottle holders.

These were the blades sheathed up. Left - SOD (modified by removal of guard and ramp), Middle top Breeden Big paw, JK kephart, scrapper 5 (modified by removal of guard and ramp) and right is RD-9.

Eric's sheaths have great clean lines and are wonderfully fit to the individual blades.

So I am super pleased with my batch of on-scene tactical sheaths. I think the JK-kephart is really living up to its tactical-sexy looks now!

Tonight I had my mother over for dinner. It was her birthday and we made a nice BBQ. I'm a big fan of lump charcoal now and here is a nice shot of them coals all ready for cooking!

How did you light the charcoal?
( mumble mumble frickin frackin fire steel grumble grumble )

Oh I make a little fire first. Scrapper-5 did the baton duty and I was getting lazy so a fire steel + fatwood shavings :D Once the fire starts to burn down I throw the charcoal in around all the coals. I find lump charcoal by this method lights up much faster than brickettes, plus I have the benefit of a 10 minute fire.

Hey guys - Eric showed me a really cool new spark catcher tinder like charcloth/true fungus but its another natural source that requires some prep. Pretty cool, I hope he pipes up about it.

Finally, this morning its like the day after christmas. I have all my knives back in their new pants. I have to try and decide which one is coming out for a hike with me today. I'm thinking its going to be the JK-kephart :D :D

Great looking sheaths, I really like that Bic holder! Happy B-day to your Mom:thumbup:
