Recently I don’t have as much time for outdoor adventures as I used to have (apart from walks with my daughter) but I managed to do this small escapade. I woke up at 04.00 in the morning and after small breakfast I started my two-and-a-half hour drive to the gathering place on the bank of river. Other guys has been there already… one of them, Bagnet, showed me a nice “welcome bro!” sign:

Our primary objectives were: have fun, do a bit of fishing & play with knives. So here is our expert angler Kotwic in action:

OK, time for me! But I’m not as patient as my friends and I can’t watch the float for hours. I use only my spin, that’s more like hunting than “boring hook & worm fishing”.

This time I decided to play a bit with my Project I, just to show some people how effective this blade can be. However, we didn’t take as many pictures as I take usual, simply we decided to have more fun than camera work this time ;) And here we can see Bagnet admiring the mighty blade.

The weather was really sunny. Good that I brought half-frozen water melon. That was really best choice for such a hot day. So… who has a knife? Me!

Than after some time we decided to prepare some real food. However, the guy who was supposed to bring a barbeque did not appear. But it is not a problem for real adventure men like us! We have rocks laying around & magnesium firestarter, and that’s all what is need!

Any questions? Bagnet did a great job at home and prepared barbeque meat in really awesome bbq self-developed & mastered marinate. Notice his choice of knife ;)

And finally… time to prepare some fresh fish! We didn’t catch a lot of fish, but we simply spent too much time playing with knives and talking instead of fishing. But OK, we’ve had at least 2 per each of us so that was not that bad at all for such a hot day. I’ve decided to try my new toy, a Bird & Trout by Jerry Hossom. Beautiful & functional blade. It did the job very good, just what you may expect from knives made by such a maker as Jerry. Well, I can tell you that there is NOTHING better that fresh self-caught fish, grilled on self-built rock bbq and prepared with help of great knife. Add to that perfect weather, pint of cold beer, beautiful wild surroundings and some other knife-nut pals! Now that was great day!

And well, that was it… time to go back home. I hope my knives had some fun as well :)

Nice! - only 2 1/2 weeks till summer vacation so I can give my CRK's some use!

but...uh...what's that SAK doing there? ;)

I noticed you were carrying the Project I in the original leather sheath, no fancie kydex rig? Mine arrived yesterday and it is awsome as usual. Can't wait until the Project II sheath arrives.

Ted, this was not me starting the fire... I'd use different knife of course ;)

Booger, I decided that this Project I would be my personal toy during the trip that very morning so I had no time to make one in the car :D Oh, and I'm so glady you like yours. BTW, I'm now "just a bit" back ordered with my kydex works and PiterM is on the end of waiting line unfortunately...

Nice post and great pics. The Hossom looks awsome. I really like that wood, whatever it is. Looks like you had fun.

Thanks for sharing your outing experience. Great pix. Looks like y'all had a great time. Now I'm hungry. :D
