I'm sorry to stir the pot a little but at times it's really hard for me to understand where these people come from.

Hmm... this guy blows my mind. And when he refers to "your blade site", he's talking about this forum... Strider Forum.

Paying hundreds of dollars for flashy knives is just plain stupidity. Especially those jack-off fantasy blades you guys seem so fond of. Are you a collector or a warrior? I'd love to see one of you guys actually have to use and discard your pet blade. Makes more sense to me to buy several field grade blades, like Spec Plus. Use 'em, abuse 'em, throw 'em away, or lose 'em. Wouldn't shed a tear or break my wallet. Also, are you guys trained in knife combatives at all? The only reason I see for that big-ass blade is for reach in a fight. And even then most blades I've seen in this thread appear too heavy and unbalanced to fight with. Ernest Emerson is doing a knife fighting seminar 4-5 May at Blocker Academy of Martial Arts, Rolling Hills, CA. Take your goofy blades in there and see how you do. One more time for the cutlery challenged, for regular chores, a 4-5" blade does nicely. For heavier chopping, etc. get a ****ing machete for crying out loud. Either one would probably do better in a fight than your wonderblades. I'd be glad to go to your blade site and say the same thing.
