Few pictures of knives I took at blade, this should load quite slow I am sure:

OK the 1st couple of pics are from a Bladesmith named Herbert K. Derr from West Virginia. The knives he had on display were all of a hunter style and were all Damascus with natural handle materials. The quality if his work was second to none, the fit and finish was flawless and the designs were great. His knives didn't even need solder at the meeting of the blade and guard they were fitted by hand to perfection. Mr. Derr hand forges all of his own Damascus and even makes his own pins and screws that are used in his knives, This is what you truly call a handmade custom knife.

The knives on display had handles made from Stanbar Stag, Red Deer bone, Giraffe Bone and Oosik (You will have to look that one up for yourself, but it consist of a part of a Male Walruses internal anatomy). All the materials were finished beautifully and looked great.

The prices on these knives ranged from 225-300 bucks, and I think are way underpriced for the level of work and skill in them. As you can tell I am very impressed with his work.

Almost forgot, the sheaths included with the knives are handmade by Mr. Derr and were in themselves work of art, they featured leather trim with exotic inlays such as snakeskin.

I have 2 pics below of his knives so enjoy. Contact information:

The next knife makers pics I have is Mace Vitale, I met him in the hotel bar the 1st knife there and made a point to stop by his table early on. Mace was trying out for the Journeyman level of The Knifemakers Guild Friday morning, unfortunately he did not make it this try but he made good effort and I suspect in learning from his mistakes he will soon make it. His knives all tended to be in his own style and not that of the main stream but I like that it shows originality and brings new things to the knife world.

Below are a few pics from his table, the materials are 1095 steels some are mustard stained, the handles are natural woods and some are Oosik like the knives above.

The next 2 pictures are just random, I forgot to pick up a card of the large folders maker but it is a nice knife. The other one had just a neat factor to it, it's made from a pipe wrench as you can see:

This next picture is of a piece of damascus with the American flag forged into it, I was tempted to buy it and have it made into the bolster of a knife I am having made but the stock was two thin, my second thought was it would make a nice blade on a Stars and Stripes Sebenza.

This next piece is a Damascus bladed "Hawk" with a handle that is a black powder pistol, the barrel makes up the handle and comes out the top of the hawk, there is a old mans faced carved out of metal as the guard/fitting between the pistol and the wood part of the handle, I did not get a good picture of that. Around the table near the hawk you will see some pieces of handmade damascus with crosses in it and some with Sept. 911 scenes, very nice work and it was all done By Ray Rybar:

These pic are of Charles Marlowes work, You can find him around the forums here and his website is http://www.marloweknives.com/ The one butterfly knife is a IKBC proto type is just unveiled, instead of the typical tang pins it has a ball bearing system the help it work smooth and I will tell you it works sooo smooth you have doubts as to if the blade and handles are even connected. The other knives are various tactical folders and a Wharnclif with Damascus bolsters that I really loved, In fact I ordered on just like it but with only the top bolster and not the Damascus but it will have the stag handle. Now I only have to wait 5-6 months to get it

"hawk" from Justin Gingrich at Ranger Knives, the head is hammer forged by Justin and has 1095 and 1018 steel head, the 1095 is the core with the 1018 over wrapping, the handle is solid hickory, as you can see some in the picture I have already been outside throwing it, of course so far I pretty much suck at that, Check their stuff out at http://www.rangerknives.com/

Thats all for the time being, maybe get some more up later.

Great pics, man--I especially love that last Marlowe folder with the stag. Great stuff.

wow, the marlowe with the "chip ground" blade is....well, damn impressive.

Sorry I missed you at the show. I kept looking for guys in NGK Shirts but the knives on the tables kept calling my name.

The pipe wrench knife was made by Fred King here in Georgia. He makes a he77 of a knife. I have two of his Damascus blades and they keep on cutting, 'n' cutting, 'n' cutting... One them gutted, skinned and quartered two deer. It would still shave afterwards.
