I haven't been around the forum much lately, have been really busy at work lately summerizing boats. My bk14 gets a workout cutting out shrink wrap and strapping.

First you cut a hole and climb in.

Then you cut straight up the middle down the length of the boat so it folds off to the sides.

Next you cut the strapping and take the wooden frame out and add it to the pile.

Hope you enjoy a glimpse of what I have been busy with. The 14 gets daily use from shrink wrap and strapping to parts boxes and packaging, it's always in my tool tote.

What does "summerizing" boats entail? Getting them ready for the water or... I'm just slow.
In Canada we have to winterize the boats at the end of the season, draining all the water from engines, filling cooling and water systems with non toxic anti freeze, changing gear/engine oils, unhooking batteries, shrinkwrapping etc etc. In the spring we have to remove all that shrinkwrap, flush the cooling systems, water systems, hook up batteries, run the engines, make sure everything is working. If the winterize process wasn't done properly you get problems like the cracked head above and engine freeze plugs being pushed out, even cracked blocks. The one above was done somewhere else last winter, and brought to us this spring.

Awesome thread, Dutch. It's cool to see BK14's on the job.

thats anintresting job good too see a becker hard at work helping too get things done!!

Looks like you could use a BK24. I understand the feeling, my BK14 rusts sometimes from being to close to my beer bottle condensation.

Haha ya it's tempting, although I make sure it's not put away wet and keep it oiled so it's not too bad. But I'll probably get a 24 eventually. I think the 10 may be next one I buy.

Now you have a fun looking job.. Congrats it looks as if you 2 are made for each other. Nice looking 14 and 15...
