My dog is in South Carolina. He is preparing for a hunt test on March 10th. The trainer sent me some pics of him and I thought I would share.

This pic is of him pointing a quail

This is a pic of him doing a track

And the third pic is of him doing a water retrieve

I am very nervous about the hunt test. I want him to do well on it. And I am excited about next bird season.

Very handsome dog. What breed? Looks like a working hound, I'm sure he loves the chance to work. Wishing him luck.

Congrats on your dog! He's a fine looking specimen for sure. I knew a guy who hunted his whole life, had many fine dogs during this time, but his all time favorite was his WPG. This dog could do it all, and do it all day long. One time, while out duck hunting, his dog fell through the ice and was struggling to make it out. He determined that his dog couldn't make it out, and plunged into the icy water to save his dog. The stories he told of this dog were amazing. I hope that your dog is the same for you. I wish I could go hunting with you, it's always a supreme pleasure to watch a working dog doing his job flawlessly.

He is quickly becoming my favorite dog. He does get on my wife's nerves though. Of course that could be one reason I like him so much. :D

I want him to get a prize one at the NAVHDA test. If he has a good day he will have no problem.

Statistics show that usually, the dog will make it out of the ice, but the owner rescuer doesn't.

Not in this case fortunately!:D His comment was: "I couldn't bear to see him drown". The dog definately couldn't get out, and he had back up to help him out too. Did put an end to hunting that day though.

He is a wirehaired pointing griffon.

Here is some info:

There aren't very many of them here in the U.S. Much more in europe where they are known as the Korthal's griffon.

Great dogs. My parents brought theirs over to my house yesterday. Big, dopey, loving dog. Messiest drinker I've ever seen. He and my jack russell terrier love racing around the farm and beating each other up.
