First off is a picture I took of my Case Sodbuster Jr. The shadows are quite harsh, but at least you can see the etching on the blade (it only shows from the right angle):

And then today I got a new knife, a green handled Victorinox Cadet, so I figured I'd take a few pictures of it as well:

And the best of the bunch and my current desktop background:

The cadet is quite nice. Slim and light, a small but useful assortment of tools, and a perfect size. The blade is also very thin and ground at 30 degrees on the bevel, so it cuts very well.

Those are great pics..
I do like the etching on the Soddie, perrty neat for a knife that costs under 20 bucks..

The green Vic is a neat little unit...

Those are much nicer pics than any that I have ever managed.

Nice knives, too.

If you have a decent camera, it is really very easy to get shots like these. Here's the setup I use, only with a piece of polished black granite for the shots with the cadet (and one shot with a Kershaw Mini Cyclone on my flickr page):

Cardboard, tracing paper, and a couple of lights is all you need.

Thanks, Brutus.

I'll take a look-see at what I can put together.

Nice pictures, sir! Makes me want to run out and pick up a Cadet. I saw those at Target the other day and almost bit.

Victorinox deserves more credit than they get in the traditional forum, IMO. They make some pretty great knives at very reasonable prices.

The fit and finish are actually very good compared to the more expensive Case Sodbuster Jr, I'd say. It's less knife (kinda), but the blade is thin and sharp, it's very thin and lightweight, and I like the ring on it (I currently have a lanyard on it, quite useful).

Appreciate the pix, some real quality there:thumbup:

Wish Vic would make a GREEN ALOX Farmer, that'd be something for the leafy woods:D
