This was a custom order from the same customer that got the cable damascus one
(http://www.aescustomknives.com.ar/docs/knifemakingnessmuk.htm)

Acid etched O1, differentially hardened, 1/8" thickness.
4" blade, 8" overall length.

Handle was made from red deer stag and the bolster is polished leather and enameled copper, same as the butt cap.

Profiled blade in place with the rest of the parts

New stag according to the customer's desires. Also added the buttcap.

I really like the blade shape on this one Ariel. And the stag/leather look really good together.

It looks like you did the differential hardening by edge quench. Is that right? The hamon really surprised me, as I'd heard they're hard to get on oil hardening steels.

Nice work!

Thanks :)

I used a torch and then cooled it in oil (I never had a problem getting a hamon line while using O1)

Regards,

Ariel

Whew! I didnt give it much hope after seeing the first pictures but Wow it came out nice!
