I love big folder, thus Sifu is surely in my next buy list. But. . .

1. Consider the finger groove. . .I'm wondering if this would cause any problem in reverse grip?

2. I have Benchmade Axis-lock, and I don't like it because I'm not comfortable closing it with one hand. I'd like to know if this wouls be same for Rekat Rolling Lock? (If it's something similar to Liner Lock, it'd be okay.)

Anyone could help me out on this would be appreciated.
Any other comments welcome.

Thanks

What do you find difficult about closing an Axis lock with one hand? Closing an axis lock to me is incredibly easy and smooth compared to virtually any other design. The Rolling Lock on REKATs is highly variable. So are very smooth, others can be gritty. I don't own a Sifu but I have handled several and they are easy to open and close because their blade are so heavy, they just fly open.

Hi Santi,
I have the Sifu and it's a large knife! Without a doubt when i pull it out, EVERYONE will take a step back. The fingger grooves in question is not a problem when it comes to reverse grip. Infact, the grooves boost extra grip confidents in tight situations. But a word of advise, when you finally get one....file down the corners of it's G-10 scales. They are a pain in the A$$ for your finggers.

The rolling lock mechanism Rekat uses is one of the strongest lock in the market right now. Sifu's lock is beefed up due to it's blade size and rest assured that it won't fail. Closing it is not a problem as well, with a little practise and you'll master it. There's one down side though(this is purely base on my own oppinion only..), due to Rekat's so-so QC....the action is not smooth. I'm sure folks that own ANY Rekat folder will know what i'm saying. There's these little "Grit" feel to it and you have to modify it yourself(with 800 grit sand paper) to smoothen it out. Other than that, the closing is a snap. All finggers are out of the way!

Hope this helps! Ohh...and by the way Santi, down by the Community section under Asia and Australia and you'll find most of "us" there!

keninshiro :- As you said "There's these little "Grit" feel to it and you have to modify it yourself (with 800 grit sand paper) to smoothen it out." . . .But where to sand? I'm a newbie, sorry.

keninshiro. . .The knife is easy to open? The thumb stud is not placed too far away? AND. . .Could CF help improve the texture problem?

anthony c. :- I'm sure there's nothing wrong with Axis-Lock, . . .Mine not comfy closing it is really just a personal preference.

Moreover, the lock stud is eating my pant, and I don't like that! This's also personal. . .
