This just came in last night, so I took it out on a hike for some glamor shots and some cutting. It came razor sharp out of the box. Great fit and finish and a comfortable handle. I like the overall shape, and it is reasonably light as well. It sailed through various woods and plant fibers like yucca.

Damn it!! Im jealous...just got my Bravo 1 back after getting it full height convex, a drop point put on, thumb ramp removed and the micarta matted. Unfortunately it is 1/4" thick and but what I think would be great for bushcraft. I want one of these or a BK16 with micarta scales (its half the cost with micarta scales so I cant just ignore it...even in 1095, have too good of luck with 1095 even though it is consider a cheap steel).

How is the grip? I ask because I am disappointed in how slick the grip is either waxed or matte on the Bravo. The Micarta is very smooth because it is polished and not textured at all like an ESEE grip. Now the Bravo is shaped excellent which it seems the Bk16 micarta is as well...but the 4.1 looks flatter and has less shape. However the ESEE grips are flat with less contour and the micarta is textured soo well that they are excellent in the hands, even for extended use. Let me know...for I am really considering sell my Bravo 1 and getting either a BK16 with Micarta or a GSO 4.1. I know they arent apples to apples but I like how easy 1095 is to maintain and at 1/2 the cost...I will beat it to death!!

The grip is pretty grippy. It's sandblasted, and also shaped semi hourglass, so it does seem to lock in pretty good. I'll take a spine shot of it tomorrow so you can see the shape. I was hoping the scales would be slightly thicker, but so far it seem comfy. I have owned the Bravo 1, and the BK16 as well. I like this one better, but the 16 was really nice too and less than half the cost. It's hard to give it a fair comparison this early, but I am really liking this knife. It's really a good balance of a bushcraft knife and what could be considered a "survival knife"

Thanks tknife, I appreciate the input. Did you have micarta scales for your BK16? I notice the bk scales are a little wider and shapely.
