Folks, it's with great difficulty that I make this post. Rich Lanigan of Red Trout Knives passed away today. As many of you know his health was not very good of late, and although his spirit was still as lively as ever his body just couldn't go on. He lived a long and happy life and had adventures that most of us could only dream of, and recently told me that he he was content in knowing that he had nothing left in his bucket list. I'm sure a good number of you have heard his stories of yesteryear, and know how adept he was at spinning a good yarn. The amazing thing was that most of it was true!
These last couple of batches of Red Trout knives were the culmination of a dream he's harbored for many years. Being an avid knife collector and dealer for most of his life, he wanted to leave a lasting legacy that would live on long after he was gone. He accomplished it with literally a day to spare, and though I'm incredibly sad for his passing and for his loving family, I'll be forever grateful to him and honored for letting me be a friend and a part of that dream, and happy that he was able to finally see it come true. I'll miss you buddy!
