Got bored after work and stripped an olds school SHBM 1/300 Came pretty clean ..

Yeah I noticed the dimple too on my nmfbm. In the process of grinding it out with 400 grit sandpaper. But looks good with or without.
 
That's what I meant by grind lines, AFAIK the dimples should only appear on the flats of the knife as they are essentially the surface of the bar stock the blanks are cut from.
I 100% agree with what you're saying it makes sense that dimples should only be on the flat being that when they start with the barstock dimples are grinded away , in all the knives I have striped and there's been a lot I have never seen the finished product looks like this ,whether they are dimples or just look like dimples , I'm very happy with the appearance dimples are my favorite look
And as far as grind marks go I am used to seeing them straight line in this case there are no solid lines it's just a bunch of what looks like dimples
