I just finished this piece for a customer.

scagelhamon.jpg

7.5" Blade is W-2 clay hardened with a very interesting hamon. Fixtures are Monel with Fiber, stainless and copper spacers, then the leather stacked washers. Butt is a piece of stag.

Though not a true Scagel blade shape, it came close to a couple I had seen. This was the first time i attempted the leather stacked handle. It was interesting to say the least. Not my favorite assembly but nice indeed. The whole package finally came together after about 6 months putting it off. Turned out I was delaying the inevitable and just needed to get to it. Now that it is finished I am glad I agreed to do the project. That is usually the way things turn out.

Great looking knife A. C. Sometimes you just gotta bite the bullet and and get at it. Funny how you think " jeesh , that was a lot of over thinking for nothing". Well done.

Great looking knife Chief!

I esp. Like the blade profile and the Hamon!

Is OTAC an Ocean Systems Tech. Chief?
