Here are a few little projects I'm working on. First the handles on the knife are hickory stained and lacquered . Second factory scales. I was watching some videos on YouTube and saw tuff thumbs making something like this and that's all it took for me to try. Gotta love his work. Third are from zebra wood I borrowed from my work. I haven't finished them but will post pics when I do. Damn this is the best 60 dollars I've spent on a knife yet.

Look awesome. I'm definitely going to be checking on the thread for when they are done.

Looking good. I am not familiar with Zebrawood. How does it compare to Hickory as far as ease of working?

Thanks everone :D zebra wood is nice to work with hickory is way more dence and slivers easily. Zebra wood is more like working with cherry id say. it sands a bit like walnut

Thanks for the reply. The grain on the Zebrawood is really striking. Even better that it doesnt sound trouble to work.

We just made a table out of 8 quarter and sent it down to Florida beautiful tho I didn't get to finish it

I'm digging the zebrawood. I'll be checking back to see how they came out. making my own handles will be a thing of the future as I evolve on this site. It's hard not to get pulled into pushing yourself to things you've never tried before. Good luck with your scales.

Ha right. Definitely on my list I bought it off the forums for like 50 if I had to spend the money to buy a new one I'd have made off with a 9 no question about it .

They looks great! I wonder, though, if your work will like the wood when you return it. ;)
