Man, just when I thought Old Timer prices were softening a bit...

This 34OT, the most common production knife in the history of Schrade, with black Delrin handles sold for $127.

I meant to bid $50 on it, but seems I forgot. Wouldn't have mattered anyway obviously.

I do not sell my knives. However, if that nice buyer needs some new 34OTs I could sell him 10 for half that price.

I just gave my little boy a 34OT, 100th Anniversary in the tin. I had bought an extra or two when they were on closeout for $20. :D

In my opinion, this auction was an anomaly. In fact, it appears that an auction for the same knife closed about one week prior (on 8/24) with no bids and a starting price of $25. When relisted at the same $25 starting price, bidding history shows reasonable bidding levels until a "bidding war" broke out between 2 bidders yesterday as the auction close neared.

With that said, I'm happy to see at least 2 individuals willing to pay a premium for a US made Schrade. Hopefully for us Schrade lovers, the deal will be fully consummated, the buyer receiving his made in USA collectible and the seller compensated as shown. Often bidder's remorse sets in and the winning bidder backs out. The seller makes an offer to the losing bidder who (wisely) opts to wait for a relist. I've been on the losing end of one of these scenarios on at least one occasion.

I'll keep an eye on the seller's feedback in hopes that the buyer leaves feedback suggesting his or her satisfaction upon receipt of the item.

I enjoy watching the sale prices of USA Schrade and Camillus knives and thank you Bob for bringing this to our attention.

I'll know more about it when it comes in the mail. :D

Still not sure what's so special about a black 34OT. The New Holland tractor came with a black Old Timer too. I paid maybe $80 for one of those, tractor and all, in near-new condition.
