Just a note-Skinth is a one man operation. I am not that man, and do not work for him-but I feel like I need to spread the info since people may not know of these gems.

Skinth is a one-man operation with the choicest materials, mostly 1000D PU Cordura , specializing in pocket organizers and EDC belt pouches for adventurers, survivalists, and EDC'ers alike.

Nearly all Skinths have an available range of custom options, making them both personable and extremely functional. All products are incredible well-tailored, with extreme attention to detail.

First off, I'd like to thank Eric (Metropolicity on EDCF)-without him, all my portable gear would be in shambles! :p He is amazing to deal with and I can't recommend his products more. Fabric, threads, and overall construction is actually overkill-so I'm not worried one bit about anything ripping, ever. Every little detail is immaculate.

Maybe you won't quite understand until you see or feel one in person-but really whats 30 bucks to get you started with a Skinth Spartan SP? You know you'll easily spend it on something else without blinking-I am, and forever will be a pouch guy-and more specifically a belt pouch guy-and MORE specifically a Skinth-belt-pouch-guy. Don't waste your time with lesser pouches. Trust me-you get class, style, and ruggedness with Skinth- you get ONE of those with other MT and phone pouches.

Skinth SP (Smartphone)

The Skinth SP is designed to hold all iphones and other similarly-sized phones. It also fits the iPod touch 4 with the Griffin Survivor Military Case perfectly. (If you have a larger phone like a Droid, you'll need the Milky Way). Since I used mine to take pictures, I have some alternative setups.

The main pocket houses all iPhone-sized smartphones

Side pockets hold Sharpes, Pens, AAA flashlights, and similar items

Front pocket Credit Cards, Business Cards, Survival Cards, Small Knife

My "Zombie Skinner" SP in custom flouro green color, custom H&K clip (extra), custom knife straps (extra), custom horizontal carry straps, magnetic button, and extra button snap (not available).

Skinth L-Shield

The Skinth L-shield is a perfect size for a Leatherman Charge type multitool (Main pocket) and can hold up to 2 AAA sized flashlights on both side pockets.

The front pocket is perfect for the Leatherman Bit Kit, and will hold most other multitool bit holders just as well.

Other pouches don't compare- Skinths are just the perfect combination of form and function.

My one-of-a-kind "Gentleman's Skinth" in burgundy.

Custom leather accents, antique button snaps, CLASS :p

Composition

The first thing I noticed when I received my new Skinth L-shield was the expert craftsmanship-not surprised!

Like I said-quality is incomparable! It is just ridiculous how perfection is shown in every area of this magnificent wonder! The seams are perfectly straight, buttons are nice and snug and snap easily, no exposed threads, and the shape of course is perfectly symmetrical (as you can see ;) )

Size/Composition

The next thing I noticed was just how small she is, and how low she sits!

She is barely noticeable on the belt, and the perfect size! People would never look twice! This is a concern for many when buying a "tactical pouch".

Usually when looking for a pouch, people (especially in the EDC community) look for military grade.

This is 1000D Cordura Nylon (am I correct, Eric?)-which is Mil-Spec and what guys on the battlefield use for backpacks and molle gear, and I might also add that I'm pretty sure Eric also always exclusively uses industrial grade thread-so you don't have to worry about seams falling apart.

Because of the durability, it could definitely serve its purpose as a "tactical" military sheath-and much less cumbersome to carry (and stealthy :ninja: ). Same goes for all other Skinths. In this instance, the burgundy would serve its purpose in more canyonlike, "red rocky" terrain-but this isn't a tactical review-just showing potential and ability to hold up in any wide range of circumstances.

The leather on this, the color, the size (oh my lawd I can't believe how compact this little beauty is!), and everything about her is absolutely full of class. It is really, really hard to describe how superior Skinths are as vessels for precious cargo in comparison to other "pouches". This shouldn't even be in the pouch category-but in a class all it's own-kudos to you, Eric (of course ;) ). I wouldn't trust my best gear in anything else (anything less*).

Accessibility

She is low on the belt, which is signature of the entire Skinth line-you will never have to reach up high to access the items. Like I said before, you'll never have to reach deep down in the Skinth or try to pinch at anything-designed for easy, top-up access. Everything slides out easily on the first try, and reenters just as easily (LM Wave, LM bit kit and extender, ITP a3, and tweezers), yet still fits snug.

The clip is incredibly strong, and seems like it's some heavy duty stainless-so I'm definitely not worried about it one bit. It's very secure, but with a push on the well designed groove at the bottom which acts as a retainer-also aids as a lever (only when removing). It seems a lot like the clips you would find on kydex/leather gun holsters.

Conclusion

I couldn't be more impressed! Eric-you did it once again!! :D

Seriously-if you guys have any amount of money you plan on spending on a pouch, take a chance-get a Skinth. Really, the cheapest pouch, I didn't know when I first discovered, is 25 bucks-25 bucks!(the Spartan OG, or the S-Shield). The thing is, you'll find yourself easily spending that on a firestarter you may never use, or a knife you don't really like, a keychain tool that is not an Atwood, or something you'll end up selling later on :rolleyes_revamped: .

Seriously, there isn't a better product out there! Thank you Eric!! :D

I agree, Eric is great to deal with. I got a custom sheath from him last year that I keep my Leatherman Wave and Vic Huntsman in. I have to take some pics of it some time.

I definitely agree with everything you've said here-you gotta get some pics up! :D

These guys can take a beating-each one of mine still look either new or great condition. Been using his products since September. I can definitely say he's the coolest guy to deal with.

I've looked into these but they're a little off for what I need. Do you know if he'll do a 1 inch tube on the side of one of the smaller pouches? I have a AA flashlight and 3/4" is too small. Also, what is the wait time on these?

I don't see why he wouldn't be able to make you something that works for you. As far as I remember he does custom work. You just need to provide details of what exactly you're looking for, down to thread colors, attachment types, etc. he's very accommodating from what I remember.

If I get serious I'll send him an email. I've only been looking casually at them as I'm just not sure if belt carry will work for me. I have a wide frame so sitting in some chairs would be a pain. I have a small pouch I can try for a few days though. Now I just have to get over being one of "those guys." :D

LOL I hear ya. Mine has the metal belt clip on it but to honest I rarely if ever wear it on my belt either. I keep it in my EDC pack. I usually keep my Vic Midnite MiniChamp and Leatherman Squirt P4 on my keychain and carry the Wave and Huntsman in the Skinth in my bag. As it is, it weighs more than I want to belt carry on a regular basis since I also carry the Vic bit extension piece along with the two plastic strips of extra bits.

I'm thinking about going back too one of my earliest EDC setups which is carrying the MiniChamp, P4 and new light (4Sevens MLR2 CR2 twisty) all in a HiTec latex glove pouch. I'll post pics ijust took of both setups as soon as I can. Photobucket is giving me some problems on my iPad.

Just took some pics with my iPad so lets see if this works. I hope the pics I uploaded straight to Photobucket aren't too large, if so, sorry in advance!

Skinth with Vic Huntsman w/Dayglow scales, Wave v2 with bit extension kit, broker Ti pry tool and Incendio Lumapower LED (can't remember exact model name) which stays in Fenix PD20 holster on belt.

My old mini EDC setup. Back then it was a regular MiniChamp, not the Midnite version with the red LED, an old Streamlight LED (can't remember name of it), and the P4.

Here's the new setup I mentioned previously.

Looks like it worked! You'll see a bunch of older EDC setups in my Photobucket album too if you're interested.
