I have a user 2008 large sebenza has been lightly scotch brited and I want to get the slabs re blasted. I also want to keep the old style screws. Should I replace the washers with the preforated ones or just keep the solid ones.

I have the perforated ones, can't speak on the solid washers, but it does hold lube. I would do the switch while you're there.

Okay I have them on my CGG enigma and don't feel that much of a difference. Also will the spa fix a sticky lock bar ?

Mag--I don't notice a difference in the feel of the solid vs perforated, but the perforated gets a slight edge because of the ability to retain grease for a longer period of time.

Regarding the sticky lock bar--if it is reparable, then they will repair it.

Just an FYi: if the scotchbriting has rounded the chamfers they may refuse to re-blast it.

Looks like the previous owner did it real lightly

Yes, it appears to have been only slightly scotch-brighted, but ultimately CRK will make the final decision. If CRK refuses there are several folks here on the forums that do excellent work with sandblasting and I can recommend one if you like--just shoot me an email or a PM.

I would go for the new washers while it is there, performance wise they seem the same but they will hold the grease longer as Mostmen stated

I like that look...

I've never tried the solid washers. The one Sebenza that I had that came with them from the factory had already been to the spa and had them swapped before I got it. I can agree with the others though. They do hang on to grease (and grime). Makes me wonder why other companies don't adopt larger washers and perforate them.

I have one lg regular that has been upgraded to perforated washers, and one that has the original washers. They are both incredibly smooth. The original washers need a cleaning/regreasing about once a year with my usage. Have not had the perforated washers that long. Once in a while I'll get my original washers clogged up with something like venison fat and I'll have to take down the knife, but that would probably happen with the perforated washers as well.
