Spent last week out grizzly hunting ( I will post a thread on that later)
While out took some photos of some edibles that are in my areas
1st is Cow Parsnip while not an edible its roots can be used as an insect repellant.I have done this and it does work.Bears like to eat this plant as it emerges in early spring
Next is Glacier Lily.It has an edile corm or the bottom of the stem
Next is Spring Beauty they have a tuber, very tasty although not very big.Largest I have seen is close to the size of a walnut
Plant with tuber attached
Last for this post anyway is False Solomon Seal
Can be used when emerging in spring steamed.
Have a look at these Glacier lilies growing through the snow.Up in the mountains winter may still be here but even the plants know its spring and time to get on with the season
I have pictures of more just no more time right now to post
Always make double sure of plant identification of what you are harvesting There are some look alikes out there that arent recommended
Thanks
