Some suggestions...

I've been eye-ing a few SOG folders and comparing them with other products that spark my interest from other companies (mostly Kershaw and Benchmade). These days, in the current economic situation, I find myself constantly wanting to maximize the "bang for my buck" when I buy knives.

That being said, recently I noticed I have chosen many other non SOG products because of this, and I just have a few suggestions for SOG to catch my attention again. It's mostly the little things, but I suppose that is the deciding factor in today's tight manufacturing tolerances... anyway, here are just a few of my suggestions:

1. Bronze washers. They are so much nicer than the nylon ones that come in all the SOG folders. When I pay for a $150 folder (the Stingray 2), I would expect to get bronze washers, not the nylon ones. Kershaw affords to put these in some of their $30 folders

2. G-10 vs. zytel. I'm not sure what everyone else thinks, but I find that zytel just screams cheap plastic toy. G-10 makes it look classy and just feels like better quality. I mean, imagine a Vulcan in G-10 instead of the Zytel. IMHO that would be a knife that could easily rival a lot of the Benchmade Axis lock models.

3. New/better steels. 154CM or S30V would be awesome. VG-10 is nice, but having different models with various options would be really neat.

That's all I've got for now. Feel free to chime in with any thoughts or additional suggestions.

I agree with you. I view Benchmade as a company that overall puts out better quality products.

Yes but that doesn't mean the info/ideas/suggestions get reported back to the SOG designers

That being said, Hey Chris how about telling the designers that combo
blades are okay but the majority of user prefer plain edge like say maybe
the xray vision tanto plain edge please
