I just returned from the ECCKS show in Florida. It was nice to spend a few days in the warm weather. But most of all I was thrilled to pick up a few pieces from a couple of my favourite makers.
Luke Swenson is not only a very nice guy to deal with, but he also does some outstanding work. His file work is something to behold. Three of the knives were made by him. The lockback whittler was crafted by Tom Ploppert, another outstanding maker.

I will add better and detailed photos of each knife if anyone is interested.

Wow, all really beautiful, but I especially like the one at botttom. Feel free to show us more of that one! Congratulations on all, though.

All sweet, I have a couple of Tom's knives, he's definitely a top maker. These Swenson's are all terrific, I particularly like the
stag on the top piece and the engraving is a beautiful touch!

Wolfe, those are some absolutely gorgeous folders exhibiting just outstanding craftsmanship:thumbup::thumbup: more photographs please! Thanks, Lloyd

Those are all exceptional. Some more pics would be great.

They're all pretty sweet. I do especially like that lockback whittler though!

Outstanding group! Congrats on such a fine pile of stag from the show. More pics please :)

Come on now!! How do you not post a pic of that Whittler opened up!?

As a knifemaker I am fascinated with the lockback whittlers. I have made many lockbacks, and a few slipjoints, so I appreciate the challenge in making one of these. For me, this knife has it all, a fine satin finish on the blades, great jigged bone and super finish on the inside.

At 4" this is not a small knife. The rounded bolsters would make it very pocket friendly though. Luke did a great job of finishing the mastodon ivory, blades and inside of the knife.

Those were the two that caught my eye the most. And open  Outstanding ! Looking forward to more photos of all of them:D

Outstanding! Those are all amazing, but that lockback Whittler is the cream of the crop IMO:)

Some more shots of the last two. The fileworked springs make these special to me, but so does the stag.

I am not a fan of damascus blades, but this one seems perfect with the engraving and stag. Again, the fileworked springs are so nice.

Simply WOW. Fine examples, all. Across the board the covers are exceptional. That whittler does really steal the show, however. The build looks fantastic and aesthetically it may be the finest example of that pattern I have seen. Just gorgeous bone and blade grinds.
