When I went home this summer, I got to play with some swords for the first time since I bought them, my Welsh Fusiliers Sword and my Manjushree. Some of the lines are very similar, which is why I liked the manjushree so much. It resembles the Welsh Sword in some ways...
You may note that the Manjushree scabbard was signed by Uncle Bill and Aunt Yangdu. The Welsh Sword scabbard I made myself using pics from antiques. I didnt get a chance to dye the leather. Maybe when I go home next year I'll get that finished and make some kind of safe display for all of those blades in the closet.

I didnt know they closed down. I was only unhappy that I was not allowed to sign the Wilkinson Sword registry when I bought the sword because it had no serial number. (it was not a part of their regular offerings)
I begged them to let me sign, but...
That registry lists the names of every person who bought one of their swords and it goes back hundreds of years, or so Ive been told.
But still, I HAVE the sword, so how bad can I feel?

mmm yes,

The Acton sword factory closed, and sword production ceased, as of September 15, 2005.

There final message was.

I was lucky enough to get the 1951 Gurkha kukri from there pattern design room when they closed down, they were never numbered either. Most bayonets & military knives they made wernt.

There records covered probably 90% of Cavalry & Infantry swords made since 1855,

There records were bought by this company.

But as you say, having the sword is what matters. ;)
