Just finished this for a Customer! Green canvas Micarta with fancy pins, 440C stainless blade! This was a fun one to make!

Lookes great Rene, did you test it out? A good test is to see if you can slice tomatoes so thin you can see through the slices. How's that folder coming?

I really like that Rene, little kitchen knives like that actually see a lot of use and are a pleasure to handle since you do use them so much. I've got some 3/32" 440C on my bench, I think I might just make up a few kitchen knive myself!

Awesome! Making kitchen knives is great, because it is ALL about the cut! No need to worry about fast opening or armor piercing and such! Just make 'em thin, sharp, and looking good. Just like you did Roy!

In the last few months I've finished 5 knives for the kitchen, one 8"chef's blade, 2 paring knives and 2 4.5" wharncliffe utility slicers. The last 4 are 1/16" 440-C! Nice stuff, and slices very well! All of those knives were gifts. I'll have to try and get some pics and post 'em too.

Nice one Rene! Looks like a terrific little chili pepper knife! Great for lemons and limes, all the small stuff. :)

I like it!
I don't see canvas Micarta used in kitchen knives much. Now you've got me wanting to try making a little kitchen blade with some of that tan canvas Micarta I've got laying around gathering dust.(I use wood nearly all the time now.)
That is a sweet looking little knife. The cook should get a lotta use out of that one for sure.

Nice one Rene! I like the clip on the blade and that nice handle. Micarta is great stuff for the kitchen, I have some that's been going through the dishwasher for two years and everything looks brand new. Your customer is going to be very happy - hope you have more green canvas for the next knives they ask you to make.

Dave,
I bought a sheet of the stuff years ago, I really like the grip of the canvas! Has just enough grab even when wet! I luck on the shape, just started profiling a piece of steel and found the knife!

those little ones see a lot of use. culinary is a large part of my sales. onions and tomatos are the best testing foods

looks like a handy little knife, one thing about kitchen knives, if you want to test the durability of a knife to give it to a cook. One way I have tested a couple of blades is to give them to my mother, if they survive the days long soak in the sink, the heat of the dishwasher, and being chunked in a drawer full of knives, it will probly be a good knife.:D
