...A few weeks back I had an opportunity to use a friends SAR-4 while out at our river property cleaning up after the winter floods. The knife just seemed to fit my hand perfectly and I found myself really wanting my own. I loved the convex edge and the fit and finish was over the top.
As much as I tried to convince myself I didn't need the SAR-4 I found myself researching the blade every night. I continued to poke around in the Busse For Sale Forum. Then I finally decided that I wanted the SAR-4 in Satin with the Orange and Black G10 handle.
Not finding what I was looking for a dropped an email to Amy at Busse. She responded right back with a number for Steve in the store and also the contact info for Garth in the custom shop. I sent my email to Garth asking about the possibility of the SAR-4 forgetting of course to state what color combo I'm looking for. The strangest thing happened. He responds back and states he has one available right now however he only has Satin w/ Orange and Black G10 handles.
Can't argue with that. Some things are just meant to be. I should expect a call on Monday for my billing information and the knife could possibly ship the same day. My wife is always telling me about fate. I'm already locked and loaded with my argument.
