Some things coming for 2012

First off, Merry Christmas to everyone!

I wanted to share a few new items and changes for 2012. I am planning on having my first custom folder sometime in 2012. I am shooting for at least a prototype by Blade. Going to work for sooner.

Here is the first one being added to the line up. It is my interpretation of a Spanish Navaja. The one pictured is a salvage. I screwed up on the handle and had to adjust the size. it is a bit shorter. I will be looking for a pic of the prototype. The dimensions are supposed to be 5" blade 4" handle. I am going to work up a larger version with a 7" blade and 4.25-4.5" handle. I am planning two levels of finish, "tactical" - either textured g-10 satin finish or beadblast micarta. Then a "gentlemans" finish - bolstered, with choice of handle material and hand rubbed finish.

The next an update to the Wharning. I haven't done these for a while. I have been trying to work out what I didn't like about the original. I think I have it.

More details on the folder? I'm sure people would love to know. Linerlock or framelock? Handle materials? Size and blade profiles? Also, really digging those fixed blades especially the wharncliff.
 
I really like that Navaja, although I wish it had a handle more like the Wharncliffe, with the indent for the pointer finger. That is a SWEET looking blade, especially for a salvage. You've got some great stuff coming!
 
Well, thank you for the kind words.

Folder details - I am going for a plain, straight forward look. Frame lock, bead blast finish more than likely. Blade style, could be clip point, could be spear point. There are a couple of designs I am thinking on.


As to the Navaja, I am working on some type of guard or finger notch. So far, I have not come up with one I like that maintains the lines of the knife. I am close to one. Stay tuned!
