Some unusual Poop (Scat) !!!

Where else can ya have a title that and not be dragged off for a psychiatric assessment, LOL !!!!

Anyway I was walking the dogs today very close to urban areas when I came across this scat.We do not have fox's before anyone asks and I'm pretty sure we don't have bobcats around here so I'm thinking a small Cougar ?

There was 2 almost complete mice in there plus fur and parts from a good few more, it's gotta be too large for a domestic cat eh !

What's ya thoughts ?

I continued my walk while pondering the scat.

Could be a summers day eh !

I found lot's of cool gull tracks.....

Snicker was more interested in her finds !

What;s the scale of the scat.. Looks very similar to Some Owl Pellets I've found... Much more common to find indgested goodies in there than in cat scat..

There were two pieces and one was about 6" long, I think they are a little big for bird pellets but I may be wrong !

If I'm not mistaken Owl pellets are not fecal material, but rather undigested material that is regurgitated from the crop of the owl..which might enable them to be a bit larger. but 6 inches might be kind of big.

You are quite right about the pellets.

To me the one on the right looks a bit too big and kinda the wrong shape, ie long and thin rather than stumpy.
I really don't know now, I have been googling images of both scat and pellets and I'm more confused than before !

There are lots of eagles in the area but if ya google eagle scat it doesn't look like that !

Hands down that is an owl. I have found things like that before.

What else swallows a critter whole like that? I go with owl as well. A bit large? Yeah, that's why it came back up.

I'm not too far South of you and I find Owl pellets like that occasionally. That is rather large, but when we used to rehabilitate them and they ate something large for their mass it came out like that.
