Some very nice pictures with tales to tell

Kind of you to share this. Very first time I've seen (what looks like) Beech wood on a hatchet handle.

Very nice work, and looks like a good time was had by all. I am curious about using those adzes to carve noggins, etc.: what other carving tools do you use? I've been looking into the "crooked knife" which a lot of people are using to carve spoons, I see.

With reference to the crooked knife, is that (or something very like it) in your tools?

Skiv,

I'm currently looking for them. Used nothing but a sharp knife. A better tool for the job means more enjoyment and less chance of injury.

Alexander is one talented artist. He's also a great guy. I've done some trading with him. You can check out more of his work at theaxeisboldaslove.com. He also maintains a subforum at bushcraftusa called "Hudson Valley Handcrafts" and his handle is Adahy.

In re: crooked knives...

I came across an interesting read yesterday. The book is available as multiple sections for free download.

I've played with them off and on for a few years and might try making one once the shop thaws out.
