I previously told you guys about the Camillus 83 that I purchased the weekend before last. I purchase a couple other vintage Slippies at the same time, came out to $2 a pop. They really were not in the best shape, but I figured why not. Not much value, but its nice to have something from a day gone by, and if I really feel like it, I can always slip it into my pocket without regret.

In order:
Top: Case XX Three Blade knife, blades ground down, and heavily worn. Scales are red jigged bone. I have dated it to production between 1946 and 1960, based on the tang stamp and shield. Overall, it's not in that wretched of shape, except the 3rd blade that snapped years ago. That was ground into a screwfdriver in some day gone by. I should also note that it looks like the bolter was used as an impact tool at some point. I can relate, having used the bolster on my Stockman as such more than once.

Second from the top: J Russell trapper. The blades were heavily ground and worn on this example as well. First trapper knife that own. Bone handles. It's from the Green River Works. The other damage that is not evident in my photograpy, is the opposite scale is damaged, and a piece of bone is missing.
The seller said that he believed this piece was about 75 years old. Can anybody give me some more background here?

The Camillus 83. Probably in the best shape of them all. The blades show some regrind wearm, but it is overall in pretty good shape. I would love to learn more info on this knife!

Vic Classic- OK, I have owned that for a while. Had it handy, and used it for scale.

As far as the Case goes mp510, if that tang stamp says U.S.A. under the Case XX, then your knife is from 1965 to 1969. If there are dots under the U.S.A, then it's a bit newer.

Yes, looking at a dating website, you are correct. I misread it the first time around. Good Look:)

I'd love to hear the stories these knives could tell.
Or maybe not... ;)
