Some Wharncliffe's--- Ohta, Menefee, Case Bose

Hi Guys,

I received a new Hiroki Ohta this week. It's his 3.5" wharny trapper. This is my 3rd knife I've ordered from Hiroki. He's excellent to work with. His wait times are short, his english is good (not sure if he uses translation software...but either way there's no problem on communication) and his prices are very fair.

This particular knife is the best fit and finish I've received from him so far. The insides / outsides are polished and the blade is hand rubbed. In addition to the knife I received an ironwood box cutter and the knife came with a slip case.

You will also find a sweet Menefee desk knife and Case Bose Norfolk in the photo. The Norfolk patter has replaced the single blade wharny trapper as favorite pattern. I find the Norfolk ergos to be outstanding and it has more blade than I need.

Nice collection of wharny's. Here are a few of mine. I am really a big fan of Todd Davison Knives and hope to get more of them.

Nice knives, Dave! I'm also a fan of Wharncliffe blades and the Norfolk pattern. :thumbup: Was the box cutter embellished by Ohta? I wonder if anyone has done a full custom box cutter??

Nice set of wharnys you have there tleav61. I don't have any from those makers...although I admire them in the photos I see.

Yea, that Norfolk surprised me. I'm coming up on Bret Dowell's list and I think it's going to be a Norfolk.

Beautiful Ohta(s) - congrats! I have three knives from Hiroaki, and they won't be my last. The custom box cutter is really interesting; never seen another like it.

Dave....mate what a line up of three beautifull knives!!...I wanted a Ohta for some time..scored it a while ago...very much like yours, I hope you dont mind me posting it....by the way, what a neat box cutter!!

Thanks for posting the pics of your Wharny's. That blade design is my favorite. I only have one custom Wharny, a Rick Menefee. As well I have a few Case Wharnies.

I will interested to see a/your Bret Dowell Norfolk, as I am on his list for a knife next spring. It will Wharncliffe bladed, but don't know what pattern.
