I just got my Centofante III from Spyderco. I sent in my Delica that had steel flaws. There were air bubbles or pock marks in the steel which cased a crack in the hole. Sal told me to send it back and that is what I did. I asked if it would be okay to get another knife of equal value if they should decide to replace it and he said that would be fine. I chose the Centofante III just because the Delica left a bad impression on me. I will probably try a Delica again but I will have to see it in person first to make sure it is good.
I am very impressed with Sal and the Spyderco customer service. I have never been treated so well. If it not often that you can have the ear of the president of the company that you are having a problem with. Sal obviously cares about his knives and his customers. Not only are Spydercos knives the most well thought out and inventive but the materials are top notch and the price is very reasonable. The fact that if I ever have another problem I can actually ask the president of the company for help is remarkable in this day of the dollar.
Sal and Spyderco have earned a customer for life. Anyone can make a mistake but you judge them on how the deal with it. I have no fears about buying more Spydercos and I have bought more Spydercos in the past few months than all other knives combined in my life. They are addicting because each one has a personality all its own. I couldnt be happier with the service or the quality of my replacement knife. The Centofante III is one amazing knife! I think once people get the word out about it, it is going to be one of the most popular Spydercos of all time. If only it was a liner lock, it would be perfect.
