I just received my waved QCQ7 from Murray Haday at Proedge yesterday. It took a while for him to source it, but the wait was completely worthwile.
After reading of some of the apparenty QC problems with some emersons in the various forums, I was initially a bit leery to purchase one remote-control. Murray said he would give me the 'pick of the litter' when the blades came in. Mine is *perfect*. It started locking up in the first 1/3 of the blade, now after about 100 openings, the lockup has stabilized dead-centre in the middle. It doesn't matter if it is rocketed open in a hard wave, or opened gently with two hands, the lockup is the same either way. Rock solid feel, passes the spine rap no problem, solid feel. Scary razor sharp (I am not sure what folks mean when they say the chisel grind does not feel sharp....). I guess money does matter sometimes.
And, I found out that there is a local surplus store with knock-offs for about 12 bucks. A few minutes with a dremel and I will have a training knife...
Oh, yeah, and I totally love the wave...
