Hey everyone, long time lurker, first time poster. Name's Will, i've been using BF as my source for all knife/metal related knowledge that I know and understand today and you guys haven't steered me wrong yet, so I figured i finally buck up and start posting around and maybe help out where i can.
Anyways, so i guess let me give a bit about myself, I'm probably a bit younger than the average user, but that doesn't take away from my interest in strong steel and sharp edges.
i don't have much of a knife collection due to financial constraints but i do enjoy collecting, but my primary interest in knives, as well as the main thing I've used BF for thus far is sharpening, i've been doing it as a hobby for a few years now and i really owe a lot of my progress to BF.
as a way of introduction i'll share a short project i had some fun with earlier today
My fiance found an old butterknife out in our yard for some reason, decided to clean it up and throw an edge on it for fun!
set bevels with an old disc sander, then to a diasharp course, then sharpened n finished with a king 1k/6k combo
didn't bother with stropping or anything further, got pretty sharp for some cheapo china steel, here's a picture of the mostly finished hunk of junk
anyways, sorry if that was a really lengthy and stupid introduction, but yeah, i look forward to meeting some new people and learning even more about anything i can.
