Bought my first knife on Thursday (Sog Flash 1). Ordered a Delica 4 FFG gray handle the same day and I got it today (amazingly fast shipping). I just finished ordering a Kershaw Blur and I'm still planning on getting a Benchmade Barrage and a Byrd Cara Cara 2. I'm loving the Delica. I blame this forum and nutnfancy from youtube. Anybody watch his videos?

Duuuude, those blades are Svelte (by which I mean, totally awesome, duuude), especially at that price point. Your mileage may vary, though, duuuude. Still, though, they just can't measure up to my old standby, the Glock 19, which is ideal for this POU, EYE EEEEEEEE Philosophy of Use, duuudes, EYE EEE emergency tactical and (gawd forbid) emergency defensive use, duuuudes.

I have seen his videos...they're part of what got me into knives in a big way, along with a bunch of the other youtube knife reviewers. Which version of the Kershaw Blur did you order?

I totally understand your situation. But, really, No One Can Stop You! Heck, I can't even stop myself! Just enjoy the ride, my friend! And welcome to BladeForums!

LOL good one. I just got the regular 13c26 all black one. I was trying to decide between the barrage and the blur and decided I would just save up a little money and get both. So I went with the cheaper Blur. I also want to get something with a big blade. Was gonna go with the Cara Cara 2 but I just spotted the Resilience.

Can't really beat the time I bought a Large Sebenza 21 and a Hinderer XM-18 both in the same week:D.

Perhaps instead of both the Barrage and Cara Cara (good as they are), combine the amounts for one knife. There is something to be said for having few yet superlative knives. (said the man with too many knives).
For example, next to your Delica you may want to check out the Spyderco Military, it's bigger than the Delica, of incredible quality and nicely complements it.

Actually it's probably wise to start off with some "cheap" ones first. After all, knowing what knife you like/want is something you can only learn after holding a few knives and actually using them.

Wish I had the foresight to do that before putting in the order for a Benchmade 943SBK directly from the manufacturer. Now I'm left with a knife I don't use, paid over $200 for, plus I find little possibility of future use due to the partial serrations(which doesn't aid in utility much).

No sir, best to start off slow:thumbup:.

The Spyderco Military looks awesome. However, I'm trying to pick different manufacturers right now so I can get a general feel of the knife world. By the looks of it Spyderco will probably be my favorite but I have to give some of the other brands a shot. I'm getting the Cara Cara because it's cheap and big.
Thanks for the input. I've thought about doing that before.

Great Knives..... Just wait till you get ur hands on a high quality AUTO...(Pro Tech TR3) then it starts all over again. Then you will move on to fixblades. I'm on now just orderd a IZULA.... And thinking about ordering another auto tomorrow. (Kershaw Rogue). I digg all knives and love the craftsmanship it takes to produce them. Kershaw and Pro-Tech are my favorites. Customer service means a lot to me.

Have. Fun with it.
