Someone bought my Dozier!

I'm pretty well set for small fixed blades. I've got a Dozier Toothpick and Whittler, customs by Jeff Hall and R W Clark, an Emerson LaGriffe, a couple of Camillus CQB-2s. Yesterday I checked out the new inventory at Bladeart and saw a Dozier Companion with green Micarta handle and 2(!) Kydex sheaths. They've had an ironwood Companion for a while and I've thought to myself, if that knife had a nice Micarta handle, I'd order it in a second.

This morning, by the time I got on-line and picked up the phone to place my order, the Companion was gone. I wasn't the slightest bit surprised. That knife had "SOLD" written all over it. I know I could just order one from The Man himself, and get it in 4 months or so, but I wouldn't get the same thrill that I get from an impulse knife purchase.

Anyone else miss out on a sweet knife lately?

If you give Linda Dozier a call, you may still be able to catch a "modified" (slightly shorter blade) Companion with the same green micarta scales and brass bolts with a horizontal sheath that she brought back from the recent NY show. All you need request is a vertical sheath. Your wait time shouldn' t be long at all. Good luck.

Nakano:

Thanks for the tip. I thought my budget was safe for a while, but perhaps not.

Miguel,
I tried to get the Dozier Bone Folding hunter from BladeArt,
same story SOLD :( . So your not alone.;)

You will enjoy dealing directly with Bob and Linda. Call them. The wait will not be long.

How does the old saying go:

"He who hesitates is lost.."

Something like that.

;)

Nakano is right on. bob and Linda took home some really excellent knives from the show.

Nakano, thanks again for the duck!
