someone buy this for me, my birthday is two weeks away

DIJ, that would just as likely cause you trouble as not.:grumpy: :(

Besides, you oughta be able to throw dem little stars wit da speed of a .22 cal. :p :D ;)

Why not a Walther PPK with suppressor just like James Bond? :D Just kidding. Happy upcoming birthday.

I LOVE silenced .22's.
I cant explain it. Rugers, Hi-standards, Berettas.
Of course, the PPK is nice but pricey as heck.

I like them too Danny. Maybe when you get back to the States you will be able to get one. A friend jumped through the hoops and paid the tax. He got his Ruger MK2 with integral suppressor a couple of weeks ago and just loves it. I got to shoot it and now I want one too.

By using .22 shorts and to some extent .22 longs you can spit between a teaspoon and tablespoon of spit down the barrel of a .22 rifle and folks will think you're using no more than a pellet rifle on low charge.:D  :D
Doesn't work with the .22 long rifle cartridges though because of the sharp "Crack" they emit upon discharge.:(

This is an old time squirrel hunting tactic when hunting squirrels in questionable places where stealth is the better part of prudence.
It also helps to have a couple of good lookouts if you just so happen to be in a municipality park or the like.:p

Shooting a squirrel with a .22 short and making a clean kill isn't all that difficult depending on the range. It also helps to hit them just below the base of their cute little skulls into the spine thereby making an instant kill with little to no twitching around.:D
Also by hitting them there you are saving the highly desired brains that some people, like Uncle Bill, consider a delicacy.

Not that I would condone or participate in such a practice or encourage others to do so.
It is highly illegal.:grumpy:

Squirrels have brains??? ;)

Danny - I'd send you mine, but it's on a Jetfire...25 ACP. I'm sure you wouldn't be happy with it.

I had a wonderful peach tree in my back yard. But each year the squirrels would get the peaches. So I got a good .177 pellet rifle. With a scope it is easy to get the peach stealing little varmets. Do gotta hit them in thier "widdle" heads though. 30 yards was a long shot. Most were about 15-20 yards.

Anyone ever tried a squirrel and peach pie? Pretty good.

Danny,

With a suppressed, short-bl .22 in the config shown, you're looking at a contact-distance weapon. You need to take headshots to be effective, and (if you look at the picture) the suppressor occludes your view of the sights. As mentioned, other options such as integrally suppressed Mark II are probably a better bet.

OTOH, if you wanted a .22 that could also legally be used in places that don't allow suppressed .22s- hunting, for example- something like this P22 might be in order.

Regards,

John
