Someone has attempted to steal my account

I woke up to this message this morning:

Dear Justabuyer,

Someone has tried to log into your account on BladeForums.com with an incorrect password at least 5 times. This person has been prevented from attempting to login to your account for the next 15 minutes.

The person trying to log into your account had the following IP address: 74.76.246.7

I suspect this address belongs to a forum regular. Could someone please do a search of forum logs to see if this is a address/computer/hostname of some one that is known here. I assume attempted theft of other members accounts is a infraction?

Yes it is a very serious infraction.
 
Well if it helps in the investigation I have kept the automated e-mails from blade forums with original headers and can forward them. But I imagine Blade forum software already has that logged.

I am now going to go harden my password. I will do that now about 1:37 pm.
 
Just want to point out that while this investigation is being made, the offender is talking smack and gathering an army of vengeful zombies over in political. But its the continued preachyness in light of his attempted theft that is most irksome.

If the IP address matches a member profile, it seems reasonable for that member to be asked to apologize for what is - at bare minimum - a serious lapse in judgement.

If Justabuyer and the mods know the identity of the person responsible, and if the person responsible knows that they know, then it seems like a question of whether the offending party will fess up voluntarily or be called out.

Looking forward to seeing what happens here.

Kids or friends , "messing with your stuff" , kind of thing !?

Just to ease anyone's unfounded suspicions, my own IP originates out of Bethlehem and I use no proxy servers.

Country:United States

So I repeat; I did not try to hack anyones BF Membership account to try to impersonate anyone. Nor do I know anyone who did.

Sorry Tim, I was hoping you could clear something up for me. Did you enter in Justabuyer's username, enter characters into the password field, and hit submit?
