Someone here will know: Benchmade 510

If this model did in fact ever exist, could anyone here describe when it was made, the handle material, blade steel, blade style, thumbdisc/stud/hole, link to a picture, give an approximate size, anything? Or did it never exist at all?

Thanks in advance... maybe I'm just having a memory lapse or something but I just don't know. :grumpy:

Thanks Storm... someone was trying to sell me one and sent a blurry photo that showed a hole. They either didn't know what they spoke of or were trying to cheat me

More likely they didn't know.

I think that is a typo (the one on ebay) the 501 was a thumb-disk model... i have never seen any reference to a 510

That would really explain things! This wasn't an Ebay transaction just an acquaintance of mine who probably didn't know what he was talking about. Thanks guys!

there was an ebay auction just a day or so ago for a "510". someone made a reference to it and then edited their post.

how much did they want for the blurry photo knife? after all - a benchmade is a benchmade - maybe they don't realize what they have

You are correct, sir. Sorry about that. 510 - 501.... it didnt register.

The 501 was called the Monarch. It was a lockback with the lock detent towards the back of the handle like a Buck 110. It had the old style Butterfly with "Bali-Song" round symbol on both sides where the pivot is.
Don't know what the steel or handle material was made from.

*edited to add - I'm looking at an old Benchmade "Care and Maintenance" guide that came with a 401 Panther that I have, and inside it shows 2 different blade styles for the 501 - one is the Weehawk blade (looks like a kind of spear point to me) and the other is a funky looking reverse tanto style blade.
