He started an intro spiel, so I said "bottom line it for me, and I will listen for 20 seconds".

So he quickly summarized 25 MBPS for such and such a price, and 50 MBPS for such and such a price (both cheaper than what I am paying) and he started to mention cellphone plans. I stopped him there because I know he can't beat my current plan I asked how much for 120 MBPS (which is the low end of what I get when I check speedtest.net, and pretty good for my rural area). He looked like a deer in the headlights for a sec. Then he said "we don't offer that". I said thanks anyway, and started to go back inside. Then he said "thank you for listening," so I replied:

"I know what you do is hard, because a lot of people say no, and it can be demoralizing. Remember, what you are offering is a valuable service, so when people say no, it's not about you, it's about them. Keep at it, and good luck."

Then I closed the door, and he drove away, with a renewed sense of optimism, ready to conquer the world. Actually, I made up that last part, I have no idea. But that is what I hoped for.

My local cable company offered to run cable to my house for $9000.00 two weeks later I got a letter in the mail saying they were offering me a one time special, they'd run it in for $7500.00
at the time I was running a Verizon hotspot and while it worked good for wifi and streaming movies it wasn't 24 hours, you couldn't just leave it plugged in to stay charged all the time.
I went with Elon Musk's Starlink, it's a little pricey but it's high speed and works great.
it actually works so good I have wifi game cameras 500' away in the woods and they receive it's signal.
